EDUCATION SUPPORT PROGRAM
In our mission to empower children, education is key. Your support can provide a full year of essential school materials, including books, pencils, pens, and school fees. In addition, at our center we equip children with vital life skills to prepare them for the future. Our approach is based on the accelerated 3 C’s: Communication, Consistency, and Competency.
Indicative annual costs:
• USD 350 for pre-nursery and primary school children
• USD 550 for secondary and tertiary students
FOOD DISTRIBUTION
It is difficult to learn and develop skills on an empty stomach. That is why Heart of Dance runs a community food support outreach program.
Each month, we distribute approximately 100 food bags, each providing enough food to feed a family for about one week. Every bag contains rice, beans, posho, and sugar.
With most families having an average of four children, this program helps nourish nearly 400 children every month.

MEDICAL EXPENSES
We support both our organization and the wider community by improving access to basic healthcare. Heart of Dance provides medical tests and treatment for common illnesses such as infections, fever, and malaria, helping families stay healthy and strong.
MAMA KITS
Heart of Dance supports underprivileged and low-income families by distributing Mama kits: essential birthing supplies that ensure safer and more hygienic deliveries.
Without financial support, many mothers are denied medical assistance at hospitals, putting both their lives and those of their babies at risk. These kits help save lives and promote safe childbirth.
BUSINESS START-UP SUPPORT PROJECT
Many non-resident students need up to a year after graduation to raise enough capital to start a small business. This challenge is even greater for young and single mothers.
Heart of Dance helps cover start-up costs and rent, enabling women to begin income-generating activities immediately and provide for themselves and their children with dignity.
CLEAN WATER INITIATIVE
Many residents in slum communities lack access to clean drinking water and are forced to use contaminated sources. This leads to deadly diseases such as typhoid and cholera.
Heart of Dance aims to provide water purification systems and access to safe, hygienic water for the community.
NIGHT LIFE WORKERS OUTREACH
Due to unemployment, debt, and other hardships, many women in the slums turn to sex work to support their children.
Heart of Dance supports single mothers by helping them pay off debts and start small businesses, offering hope, stability, and a safer future for them and their children.
ELDERLY SUPPORT PROGRAM
Many elderly people in the community are especially vulnerable during festive seasons such as Christmas and Easter. Some cannot return to their villages, while others have no family support.
Each year, Heart of Dance provides essentials such as food and medication to help them survive with dignity.
SPORTS OUTREACH PROJECT
Sports provide joy, unity, and a healthy escape from daily struggles.
We proudly support youth boys’ and girls’ teams in the Nsambya community with jerseys, football shoes, and other essential equipment.
VOCATIONAL TRAINING
We offer vocational training programs for students and single mothers, equipping them with practical skills and increased self-confidence to sustain themselves in the future. Training areas include:
- Hairdressing and cosmetology
- Tailoring and fashion design
- Making shampoo and soap for personal and commercial use
- Talent development through music, dance, and drama
These programs often lead to trade-specific internships, job opportunities, and real-world work experience.
In addition, some participants access education scholarships, particularly through music, dance, and drama.
DRUG ABUSE AND ADDICATION AWARENESS
Facing the hardships of life, many people turn to drugs as a coping mechanism. Addiction affects not only youth but also parents, leading to family breakdown, stigma, and suffering.
Heart of Dance runs awareness and education programs to sensitize the community about the dangers of drug abuse and addiction. Where necessary, we also help provide access to medication and support.
